If you want to take a course prior to applying (We allow 2 courses), we do need to check your prerequisites.  Fill out the application to take an individual course (graduate forms), and fax or send a copy of your transcript.

  • What if I dont have a Civil Engineering Degree, or my Degree is technology based?  READ BELOW!

A candidate is eligible to pursue the Master of Science in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering (MSWREE) degree provided he/she can present evidence of proficiency in mathematics, basic science, and engineering science. In the absence of such evidence, the candidate will be required to complete the following undergraduate prerequisites--mathematics up to and including differential equations; two semesters of chemistry; a minimum of one semester of physics; statics/dynamics and fluid mechanics.

  • Should I take these courses first? NO!  Apply and we will review your UG transcript, and tell you what you need to take.  Note that we cannot accept Technology based courses.

  • Do I need to take these courses at VU?  No - Many community colleges offer these courses, but you should run the catalog description past us.  We do offer these courses at night for your convenience (NOT DE)
